Friedrich Ebert Stiftung and the Institute of Public Administration organized the first Forum of Public Administration on May 16 2012. The Forum of Public Administration is established as a permanent group of experts and practitioners in the wider area of public administration with the mission to initiate the discussion on the fundamental problems of Croatian public administration and to formulate possible solutions and proposals that can serve as a framework for the necessary reforms. The number of participant to the Forum is limited to those invited participants coming from academic and other institutions. It is expected that the round tables will be held two to three times a year. After each round table a brochure containing two papers and the participants' discussion will be published.

The topic of the first Forum of Public Administration was Local self-government and decentralization. The Forum was opened by the forum moderator Anamarija Musa, PhD, assistant professor at the Faculty of Law in Zagreb and Dietmar Dirmoseras, PhD head of the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung office in Croatia.


“Recent municipal territorial reforms in Finland” - a lecture by prof. Pekka Kettunen

Pekka Kettunen, a professor of political sciences and public administration at the Faculty of social sciences and philosophy at the Jyväskylä University in Finland, held public lecture entitled “Recent municipal territorial reforms in Finland”. The lecture, held at the Faculty of Law in Zagreb on 13 April 2012, was organized by the Institute of Public Administration and Study center for public finance and public administration, Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb. The lecture gathered a great number of professors of the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Political Sciences, members of the Institute of Public Administration, members of other institutes and students. The moderator of the lecture was Anamarija Musa, assistant professor at the Chair of Administrative Science at the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb and the leader of international cooperation of the Institute of Public Administration.
