Since its inception in 1999, Institute of Public Administration has been organizing professional and scientific conferences and workshops, solely or in cooperation with partners. Competent theoreticians and practitioners in the domain of public administration, administrative and public law from both inland and abroad deliver their keynote presentations dealing with a targeted issue. Later-on the participants may pose questions to the keynote speakers and the discussion usually follows thereupon. Thematically, issues of public administration and society, europeanization of public administration and civil service legislation, administrative procedure, administrative dispute and reform of local and regional self-government have been analysed thus far. The purpose of the conferences is to thoroughly and comprehensively discuss the topical issue, to exchange useful information, experiences and best practices, and defining the proposals and measures as to contribute to the qualitative improvement of public administration and administrative law. Since 2009, Institute has made keynote speakers' presentations available for download. Participation on the conferences is open to anyone working in public administration and administrative law or dealing with some aspects thereof in the course of everyday's professional life. Call for papers for upcoming conferences and events will be regularly published on the Institute's website.


From 2001, Institute of Public Administration has been successfully organizing public forums dealing with administrative topics. Forums are conceived in form of presentations held by two or three lecturers who point out their attitudes on a specific topical issue, followed by questions of the participants and discussion. The lecturers are eminent specialists in administrative science, administrative law, local self-government, public policies and public finances as well as other related branches from Croatia and overseas. Forums are open to any interested citizen and media. Longtime experience in organizing forums as well as unquestionable expertise and professionality of lecturers result in outstanding quality of the forums.

Training manuals

In 2008. Institute of Public Administration in Zagreb has established a library „Manuals for Professional Training“. Library's main purpose is to publish papers whose task would be to significantly contribute to professional training of civil servants in public administration. In that manner, Institute has recognized its liablility for active contribution to long-term and mutually associated processes of modernization and europeanization of central state and public administration in the Republic of Croatia.

Books and textbooks

The Institute of Public Administration and its' members are actively participating in writing and publishing wide range of scientific and professional literature within the edition "Contemporary Public Administration". The books are covering the domain of administrative law and administrative science, which are published by the Institute and it's partners, such as Faculty of Law University in Zagreb, Social Sciences Polytechnic School in Zagreb and other co-publishers.
